Installation Manual of full scenery in four easy steps:Remark: For updates from earlier versions please see "Update Manual" below.
1. ---------- Download the zip file from the bottom of this page. 2. ---------- Un-zip the file to i.e. the desktop. 3. ---------- Move or copy all content within the downloaded folder "Microsoft Flight Simulator X" to your FSX root folder as it is (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X) and accept any Windows folder integration requests. 4. ---------- Start FSX and open "Settings". Then click "Scenery Library", click "Add Area" and the FSX folder will be displayed, double click the "Mogadishu X" folder and click "OK" and "OK" again. FSX will now rebuild the scenery and a progress bar will be displayed. Now you are all set for flying to or from Mogadishu X2. Users of Windows Vista or Windows 7, please see the hint below. --- Hint: When using Windows Vista or Windows 7, there is a known FSX problem which is not caused by the scenery: FSX may not react on clicking "OK" after selection of the scenery but will show the two folders "Scenery" and "Texture". If this occurs just click somewhere on the white area next to these folders without actually selecting one of them. This will add the scenery directly to the library. Afterwards click "OK" and you are all set to fly to or from Mogadishu X. Additionally you may like to see a short video tutorial about how to add a scenery using Windows Vista or Windows 7.
Advice: Set the FSX evironment sound volume to at least "35" for best and most realistic effect results.
Update Manual from all previous versions to v.2.0 in five easy steps:
1. ---------- Download the zip file from the bottom of this page. 2. ---------- Un-zip the file to i.e. the desktop. 3. ----------
Open the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\Scenery" and delete the file "AFX_HCMM_ALT.bgl". 4. ---------- Get back to your FSX root folder and delete the former "Mogadishu X" completely.
5. ---------- Move or copy all content within the downloaded folder "Microsoft Flight Simulator X" to your FSX root folder as it is (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X). Accept and confirm any Windows folder integration or file overwriting requests.
Now you are done and good to go flying. There is no need to uninstall former versions from the scenery database which will update automatically upon next FSX start.
