Turbine Sound Studios Configuration for the PMDG B744

Users of the aircraft sound package by Turbine Sound Studios may have figured out some unusual effects i.e. the generic sound when altering the flaps position, double (and false) GPWS announcements or the generic sound of moving gear, cockpit noise and false or double autopilot alert sounds. These are effects from missing suppressions of sounds that are played by PMDG depending on switch actions and not in a generic way. TSS delivers all the sounds to even make the default FSX B744 sound good but lead to the named strange effects at the PMDG B744.

The fix for this problem is easy and will only take a couple of minutes by following these six steps:

Step 1:

Follow the installation path to your TSS sound package (example using the GE CF6 engines): "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG747-400\Sound.GE" and open "sound.cfg" (Windows Vista and Windows 7 users require admin rights to modify the file).

Step 2:

Remove the custom TSS sound section "// Other Sounds".

Step 3:

Add the following content using copy & paste:

Step 4:

- "TSS-autopilot.wav"

- "TSS-Cockpitenv.wav"

- "TSS-Geardown.wav"

- "TSS-Gearup.wav"

- "TSS-Overspeed.wav"

- "TSS-Stall.wav"

Step 6:

Insert a copy of the following files from your original PMDG B744 sound package installation:

- "747.wav"

- "PMDG747_GEARDOWN.wav"

- "PMDG747_GEARUP.wav"

That's it. Enjoy your improved sound setup!
